New developments in exchange regulation and the implementation of the 2020 Voluntary Regularization Operation explained to the Belgian Chamber of Commerce

On Thursday 23 January 2020, the Director of the « Office des Changes », Mr Hassan BOULAKNADAL, hosted a meeting organized by the Belgo-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.
In his intervention, Mr. BOULAKANDAL presented the main measures introduced by the   " General Instruction of Foreign Exchange Transactions " in its 2020 version. These measures benefit both legal persons and natural persons and reflect the irreversible trends in exchange regulation in terms of simplification and, above all, in terms of consolidation of the convertibility regime.
The Voluntary regularization of assets and liquidity held abroad was also at the centre of the discussions and debate initiated during this meeting. The practical arrangements for its implementation have been explained by the Director of the « Office des Changes ».
