On the sidelines of the publication of the new version of the General Instruction of Foreign Exchange Operations, the Office des Changes organized, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of NADOR, a meeting which took place in NADOR on Friday February 25, 2022.
During this meeting, the representatives of the Office des Changes reviewed the main provisions of the 2022 version of the General Instruction on Foreign Exchange Operations (IGOC 2022), in particular the new facilitation and flexibility measures granted to legal persons, Moroccan start-ups, resident and non-resident foreign persons as well as the exchange facilities granted to Moroccans residing abroad.
 

As part of the preparations for the opening of diplomatic missions of the Republic of Suriname in Morocco, the Office des Changes received, on Tuesday February 22, 2022, a delegation from this country, composed of the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Suriname, the Secretary General of its Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) and Madam Head of the Africa, Australia and Oceania Division at the MFA.

A presentation was made to this mission, giving an overview of the Office des Changes, its missions and attributions and outlining the advantages granted by the foreign exchange regulations to diplomatic and consular representations accredited in Morocco as well as to their staff.

During this meeting, the Surinamese delegation and the representatives of the Office des Changes also discussed the various guarantees offered to foreign investors, in particular the freedom to transfer income and proceeds from the sale of foreign investments in Morocco, financed in currencies.

As part of the participatory approach adopted by the Office des Changes, Mr. Hassan BOULAKNADAL participated in a meeting organized by the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Tuesday, February 8, 2022, on the new exchange rate measures.

This meeting, chaired by the President of the CGEM, Mr. Chakib Alj, was an opportunity for Mr. BOULAKNADAL to explain to the members of the regional representations of the Confederation and the professional federations the new provisions of the exchange regulations.

The Director of the Office des Changes reviewed the main measures introduced by the General Instructions for Foreign Exchange Transactions in its 2020 version,  which aim to support the post-Covid economic recovery and to offer national operators flexibility and support for the development of their international operations.

As part of the constructive partnership between the Office des Changes and the CGEM, this meeting for information and awareness, offered an exceptional framework for stimulating exchanges between the Office des Changes and economic operators and corroborates the interest shown in the understanding the provisions of the foreign exchange regulations.
